Chapters 1 and 2
So what is intuition and original thought?
“The Intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
Einstein on Cosmic Religion and Other Opinions and Aphorisms’. Dover books.
Follow the above link to Einstein’s book in which, in a series of essays, he considers that science and religion are compatible.
Another genius who recognized that inspiration came to him through his intuition was the inspired Serbian-American inventor, Nikola Tesla. Not only did Tesla recognise the power of his intuition, he also had visions that were so clear to him that he could actually see the full workings of his ideas before he had even put thought and reason into the process.
Several websites refer to the work of Tesla. He was an extraordinarily fascinating character. The Tesla Society website has films, links and examples of all his best work. Well worth visiting. Also, there is a useful page on Wikipedia.
Creativity – synergy between intuition and the mind
This course is aimed at encouraging people to put away their perceptions of art and their abilities (or perceived lack of them) and to draw intuitively. Those who attend are always amazed at their own inner abilities to make exciting and creative art and leave with a better understanding of their core ability to be creative and original and onto which they can then add skills and methodology.
There are courses throughout the warmer months in Suffolk, UK and James is shortly to conduct some ‘pilot’ online courses. Visit the website to see many more images created by his many students.
Developed by John Hunter, this is a quite extraordinary concept. John is a truly remarkable character and it is his vision and insight that has allowed the game to develop to the level that it has. Click on the title for the link to the website.
